Institute appeals to PM Abiy to mediate Yemeni forces

ADDIS ABABA– Yemeni National Institute for Development, Democracy and Human Rights has appealed to Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed to mediate the conflicting political forces in Yemen, replicating his recent experience that helped the Sudan achieve security and form government.

In an official letter, the Institute said previous several attempts of talks ended up in failure.

The letter indicated as the cause of the failure had been due to “absence of sincere mediator”.

It further mentioned that the Prime Minister’s role in mediating Sudan has motivated them to ask the premier for mediation in the name of civil society and benevolent forces to save “what can be saved in Yemen”.
