Clean Streets – Healthy Lives movement makes Addis livable: Deputy Mayor

ADDIS ABABA- Addis Ababa Deputy Mayor Jantarar Abay said that the Clean Street – Healthy Living movement is of great ignificance to build a livable, bea beautiful and modern city.

It is to be recalled that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) recently announced the movement to build modern toilets in the capital.

Ethiopians in home and in Diaspora have joined the movement and many individuals and institutions have also continued to strengthen their support for a the campaign.

Accordingly, the Deputy Mayor reminded that after the national reform, consolidated efforts are underway to make Addis Ababa modern, beautiful and comfortable for its residents. He cited various projects developed through the efforts of the Prime Minister.

Jantarar also stated that the development works are still being strengthened to make Addis Ababa, the capital of Africa, a city worthy of its status and as beautiful as its name.

Other works including corridor development are being carried out on a large scale and the Clean Street – Healthy Living movement will have great benefits for both Addis residents and its economy.

“There is not enough standard solid and sewage waste management and disposal in Addis Ababa. Accordingly, the movement is crucial to protect health and have modern waste disposal.”

Apart from modernizing the solid waste disposal system, the movement also aims to make toilets accessible in different areas of the capital, he elaborated.

The Deputy Mayor requested everyone’s help and participation in the Clean Street – Healthy Living movement for the holistic benefits of Addis Ababa and its residents.
