Over the last 12 years, this newspaper has informed and mobilized society, wield pressure, pointed out relevant issues and gave hindsight on Abbay (Nile) negotiation. Discussions and negotiation among Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt over the filling and operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) got strong attention. Negotiation that is facilitated by African Union was widely discussed. GERD’s economic contribution to Ethiopia and the region was also recurrently presented.
