ADDIS ABABA- Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice Party (EZEMA) tables its alternative policies on a wide spectrum of areas in apparent preparation for the upcoming election at Getafam Hotel.

The two-day policy discussion was kicked off here yesterday in the presence of party leaders, policymakers, and other participants.

Up for the discussions include investment, trade, social protection, industrial, information and communications, and other related aspects.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Birhanu Nega, EZEMA Chairman said, “The Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) is turning out to be institutionalized and growing out to be the institute of all Ethiopians. They are standing tall.

As to him building a community is a lengthy process. It is not an overnight process. It takes a long time. We have lived all our lives in a regime that did not have an inkling of an idea about democracy. At the moment, for the first time, we have a chance to build a democratic system.

“Some people fear that building a democratic nation is a threat to their existence seeing that they will lose their benefits. I am not talking only about TPLF junta officials who have been given a hard time for the country. There are as well some people who hate to death a democratic nation,”

Though they will not pick up their guns, there may be resistance from the displeased ones with a view to throwing cold water on building a democratic nation. They may try to influence the politics of the country making use of their money illegally.

He went on to say, “Whenever a certain thing occurs, we should know how to get to the bottom of the problem wisely within the shortest possible timeframe. When resistance comes regarding democratic transition, we should know how to solve the problem peacefully without getting ourselves into trouble.

There are a lot of cultures that the general public has to build. Just to mention a few of them: building a culture of listening to one another and accepting other people’s ideas.
