The Executive evaluates nine months’ macroeconomic performance

 On Thursday and Friday, the Executive body of the Ethiopian Government chaired by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) sat to evaluate the nine months’ macroeconomic activities and performances during the budget year.

 During the evaluation forum, the nine months’ macroeconomic performance of the budget year was praised. The country scores meaningful achievements in the macroeconomic sectors. During the discussion, there were also talks to prepare a second Homegrown Economic Development strategy, a successor of the first home-grown economic reform agenda that was applied since 2019.

Ethiopia introduced a three year “Home-grown Economic Reform” agenda in 2019 with the goal of transforming the country’s macro-economic sector. The three year economic reform strategy scores milestone achievements in transforming the macro-economy of the country and in solving the previous challenges that the macro- economy faced. Presenting the country’s nine months macro-economic performance during the evaluation forum, Minister for Ministry of Planning and Development, Fitsum Assefa (PhD) stated that Ethiopia has scored better performance in the major macroeconomic indicators during the nine months of the budget year.

 This shot was taken during the Thursday’s nine months’ performance evaluation by the council of Ministers. All ministers attended the nine months and the third quarter of the year performance evaluation forum.

PM Abiy following the discussion said that “per our commitment to reviewing progress on institutional delivery, we have begun the Ministerial quarterly performance evaluation.” The review process will delve in to the overall macroeconomic and sector specific performance of the past nine months, he stated.
