WOLAITA SODO –Italian Bracciano town and Ethiopian Wolaita Sodo town signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish sister city relations between them.
At the recent signing event, Wolaita Zone Administrator Dagato Kumbe said: “Both towns have similarities in many ways, for instance they are old civilized towns. Plus, Wolaita Sodo town owns historical attractions such as Mochena Borago Rock shelter in which people have been residing some 58 years ago.”
As to him, the town has also aged churches, manmade forests and other tourist attraction sites.
Dagato said that as Italians have made the first master plan of Wolaita Sodo town, the agreement to establish sisterly friendship between these towns will contribute for the future development of the city.
He also indicated that Wolaita Sodo town is undertaking various preparations to celebrate its 125th jubilee of foundation in the coming year.
Representing Bracciano town, Mayor David Denardo said that both cities have similar geographical feature as Wolaita and Bracciano towns located around water bodies. Besides, the two sister cities are rich in culture.
