Representatives from more than 30 Italian private companies will come to Addis Ababa in June, to assess business opportunities in the Ethiopian economy, Luzzi said.

According to report, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ergogie Tesfaye held a discussion with the Ambassador and both parties have agreed to prepare project proposals mainly aiming at creating jobs and sustaining bilateral ties. Ergogie, thanked the longstanding relations between the two countries and the Italian government’s support for the effort to stop irregular migration in north-central Ethiopia.

She also stressed the need to find a possibility to extend the program to the southern route, where there is prevalence of human trafficking, according to the report. The minister also proposed that the two states should work to create options so that Ethiopian professionals can be trained and work in Italy, by virtue of the Italian experience with other African countries.
