Congratulations to all the beneficiaries who have been patiently saving money for many years and looking forward till today’s lotto drawing event. The management and staff of the city administration, especially the housing development and housing corporation, the contractors of the City Development and Housing Corporation; I would also like to thank all of you who have been contributed to the success of this work. The Gerji residence village, which was completed in less than two years’ time period, inaugurated on the occasion, the village have shown us the need for project management skills and the need for use of modern construction technology in the housing development. The experience of the Federal Housing Corporation thought us that multipurpose projects that can improve the lives of citizens can be carried out in a short period of time. We have come to learn from the experience of the corporation’s leadership, which has shown high quality and efficient management of projects in a short period of time. The projects would significantly alleviate the housing shortage in the capital, Addis Ababa and other cities. In this regard, the government reaffirmed its support for the counter’s efforts to alleviate the housing shortage by sharing such experience, the ruling Prosperity Party Vise President and Office Head Adam Farah.
The Federal Housing Corporation has been excelled in the management of construction projects. The main purpose of the recently completed Gerji housing residence village project is to transfer the results of the construction and management of the Federal Housing Corporation to research and knowledge institutions. In this regard, the corporation is inking an agreement that will enable the stakeholders to directly share and consult on the effective project management experience gained through the conventional construction, contracting and consulting. This demonstration is a sign of the cooperation and collaboration agreement we have with Universities and research institutions. The knowledge and skills of the university would be a great potential for the corporation as well, Reshad Kemal, CEO of Federal Housing Corporation.
Jimma University is willing to have signed an agreement with the Federal Housing Corporation, an institution that has been able to build a modern village in just 18 months. The commitment of the corporation to share the successful project management and consulting experience gained through the conventional methods will help Jimma University achieve its broader contribution to the sector. The Federal Housing Corporation has come up with something new in the housing industry, Jimma University President, Dr. Jamal Abafita.
