Nothing is new under the sun,
If well thought, meticulously undertaken,
Why, for what satisfaction
Swimming in a blood ocean?
Overlooking citizenry care, life caution,
Should be replaced by another fashion,
Love, fraternity and compassion.
We are tired of jealousy, trivial conspiracy,
What makes us all mirror devil?
Hunky punchy and quite shameful
Indiscriminately massacring,
Members of the defense force,
National pride, concrete guard
Of innocent civilians or else,
From where did we come?
Annihilating one another without shame,
It’s neither a pride, nor a right guide,
Rather we get dehumanized.
Do we have another country?
We can come forth if we have query,
Now there is no, preferential treatment
There is no boundary,
And even avoid we should
Attacking the ones, who give us hard time,
By winning confidence, not through crime
But how on earth in what gut,
We inflict on an infant harm?
If we are bold and diligent,
With human entity,
Own homeland for surety,
Let’s march, let’s shoot,
Against terrorism against poverty,
Which is cancerous for progress, for unity?
Citizens Intermingled!
Prettily intertwined
Who is a Tigraway, who is an Amhara,
Who is Wolayta, who one is an Oromo,
Also Gamo
Where is Guraghe, is that a Harari,
Does it resemble mango-strawberry?
Where is the Muslim, who is protestant?
Are they arch enemies, opposing think thank?
To be pulverized using a huge tank.
Any itched tatoo on forehead,
Identification inside the blood,
No! No! No!
A mere hatred,
Emanates from a long sown seed,
Where is the parameter what is the criterion,
To tell an invader, a bandit or foreigner?
Is he stubborn one or is she quite crooked?
On a broad daylight to get brutally slaughtered,
The earth tears up, the sky turns down,
Country get sullen put on black gown,
Where is humanness, where is sympathy?
What is the benefit— the wage of cruelty?
Time to introspect self-humanity,
Accuse yourselves feel always guilty,
Washing with blood is not civility.
That is mind cancer that is hemorrhoid,
Stop mass killing, stop genocide!
What a moral decadence to bury
Fellow compatriots here and there,
We are not created either to see or hear,
Let the Almighty help us throw,
Our philosophy becomes a cancer,
We could hardly lean on
Neither a dog kennel nor a lion den,
What a bane!
