Olympic heroes leaves their Green Legacy

After arriving home from the 33rd Olympic Games of the Paris 2024, the Ethiopian Olympic Medalists leaves their Green Legacy at Entoto Botanical Garden. Ethiopia secures four medals at the Paris Olympic, one gold, three silvers. Gold by Tamrat Tolla in Men’s Marathon, and silver by Tigist Assefa in women’s Marathon, Berihu Aregawi at 10,000M men and Tsige Dguma at 800M women.

The medalist athlets with other athlets, journalists, artists and other public figures left their Green Legacy on Friday.

Ethiopia plans to plant 600 million seedlings in a single day on 23rd of August and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) called adults per sec to plant more than 20 trees and children to plant 10 seedlings and above during the day.

Ethiopia starts harvesting fruits of the Green Legacy

Ethiopia’s Green Legacy initiative helps the country to increase its forest coverage by 7% within less than six years. By planting over 30 billion seedlings since 2019, Ethiopia has managed to increase its forest coverage from 17.2 to 23.6 in 2024.

In addition to increase its forest coverage, Ethiopia’s Green legacy initiative targets fruit cultivation for food consumption. The fruit cultivation efforts of the Green Legacy initiative starts yielding impresive results and demonstrate siginificant progress.  The picture shows the progress of the Green Legacy initiative in advancing agricultural objectives.

Ambassador Taye discusses with Lassina Zerbo, Board member of Tana Security Forum

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Taye Atske-Selassie welcomed a delegation led by Lassina Zerbo, former Prime Minister of Burkina Faso and Board member of Tana Security Forum, at his office. The two sides exchanged views on ways to hold the Tana Forum.

The Tana Security Forum is an annual think-thank forum organized in Bahir Dar City of Ethiopia and the two sides discussed on ways to hold the next forum.

The Megenagna-CMC Corridor route opens for the public

Addis Ababa is becoming more glamorous as the Corridor Development project ripples across different corners of the city. This week, the Megenagna-CMC corridor route opens for the public after finalizing the beautification and infrastructural adjustment works.

While visiting the project, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) said that the corridor development work has progressed significantly. The expansion reflects the broader perspective as the initiatives by the government continued to advance.
