PM Abiy officialy launched sixth year Green Legacy campaign
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) officially launched this year’s Green Legacy plantation in Hayk City of South Wollo Zone in Amhara Regional State. The national Green legacy initiative was started by PM Abiy in 2019,when it was started by planting five billion seedlings in a single rainy season.
The Green Legacy campaign has become an annual culture since then and thanks to the new initiative Ethiopia has planted over 25 billion seedlings during the past consecutive plantation seasons. In the sixth planting cycle this year, Ethiopia plans to plant 7.5 billion seedlings and PM Abioy officially launched the campaign by planting seedlings in Hayk City.
Wollo honored its Prime Minister
Last Sunday, with senior federal government officials Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed arrived in Dessie Town, the capital of Wollo. PM Abiy visted the development projects in and around the city of Dessie and discussed with the residents of Dessie City.
During his visit to Dessie, representatives of Dessie city honored Prime Minister Abiy and provide him gifts that the people of Wollo proffer for honored and respected guests. As shown in the picture, PM Abiy is receiving the gifts of honor from Dessie City residents.
PM Abiy reviews Logo Hayk Project
During his visit to Wolo last Sunday, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visited the Logo Hayk Project and reviewed the construction activities of the project. Logo Hayk Project is among the ongoing ‘Dine for Generation’ national projects launched in Southern Wollo Zone of Amhara Regional State.
Logo Hayk project aims to make Wollo and surrounding areas preferable tourist destination places.
During the sixth year plantation launching ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, House of Peoples Representatives (HPR) Speaker, Tagesse Chafo and other senior federal and Amhara Regional State government officials and residents of Hayk City left their green legacy in Hayk.
