Arba Minch University graduates 2,544 students in various fields

 Completes ultramodern hospital

ARBA MINCH – Arba Minch University has announced its success in producing competent labor force and providing quality community service, as demonstrated by the graduation of 2,544 students in undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.

During the graduation ceremony, University President Damtew Darza (PhD) highlighted the university’s commitment to providing quality education by equipping students with modern laboratories and workshops. He also showcased the university’s comprehensive specialized hospital, underscoring its dedication to supporting the health sector.

Ministry of Education Higher Education Sector Academic Affairs Executive Director Eba Mijena (PhD) emphasized the government’s efforts to ensure equitable and accessible education. He noted that over 1.7 million citizens are currently enrolled in higher educational institutions.

In his message to the graduates, Eba stressed the importance of education in addressing social challenges and encouraged them to prepare themselves to tackle these issues and shape the country’s future.

The university has completed the construction of the Arba Minch Teaching and Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, which has the capacity to treat 7 million patients annually. The hospital features an oxygen production plant, 600 standard beds, and a staff of over 2,000, including 1,000 specialists.

The Hospital’s Health and Education Service Corporate Director Birhanu Andarge (MD) stated that the facility is equipped with modern technologies such as Digital X-ray, CT scan, MRI, and ultrasound machines. The hospital aims to serve people in the Southern parts of the country and adjacent regions and zones, it was learned.
