ADDIS ABABA- The Ethiopian Defense Command and Staff College has graduated yesterday 100 senior military officers for the 13th times in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Minister of Defense Lemma Megersa and Army Chief of Staff General Adem Mohammed. Among the graduates, 21 of them are from different African countries.
Among the graduates, 92 of them were trained in post staff and 8 of them have been graduated in MA degree, according to the Ethiopian Press Agency.
While giving diploma, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has hailed the graduates for the enthusiasm they have shown for one year to maintain military discipline, skill and professionalism.
The Premier urged the graduates to integrate their educational knowledge with the skill and wisdom they have gained from experience and reading.
Gold medal graduate, Major Gosaye Desalegn said that the military has huge responsibility to defend national interest and the constitution with utmost military discipline and professionalism.
He promised to share his knowledge and experience to his comrades and to transform the Ethiopian military status to higher level.
For his part Somali graduate, Lt. Colonel Abdurazaq Dalmar vowed to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Somalia and he will contribute what is expected from him to safeguard peace and security in the Horn of African region.
