Sudanese Ambassador says greening campaign sets example to int’l community

ADDIS ABABA- The ongoing greening program of Ethiopia serves as model to the international community to intensify combat against climate change, said Sudanese Embassy in Ethiopia Chargé d’ affaires Amb. Anas Eltayeb Elgailani.

The embassy’s senior diplomats and members of administrative staff put their imprints on the premises of the Embassy planting 64 tree seedlings since last Monday.

Speaking to The Ethiopian Herald, Amb. Anas hailed the move describing it as exemplary to other counties.

“The Embassy’s participation is, therefore, to show the long-standing solidarity between the two people and countries.”

Ethiopia’s effort is crucial to regain its past dense forest cover, he added.

Replicating the lesson, the global community can build resilience overcoming ecological crisis, he said.

He also congratulated Ethiopia on setting a new world record planting over 353 million saplings in just one day.
