500 million seedlings in a single day

Ethiopia is poised to plant 500 million tree seedlings in a single day. On this day, except children, the elderly and sick persons in bed, no one should stay at home. Every Ethiopian should participate in the record breaking seedling planation in a single day. I call also Foreigners living in Ethiopia, embassies, employees of international organizations, and transit passengers to join hands in making history during the day.

Ethiopia is the first country in Africa that crafted climate-resilient green growth, which includes forestry and watershed activities. Now, the Green Legacy initiative has scaled up seedlings plantation and forestry giving due attention both for physical and biological parts. The good activities being undertaken and the benefits at home should be extending to African countries through strong advocacy and diplomacy.
