Agri- Science exhibition helps to modernize technologies, transform sector

ADDIS ABABA–The 28-day Agri and Science exhibition has created an opportunity to modernize agricultural technologies and transform the sector, according to the Agriculture Ministry. The exhibition, which witnessed a large number of participants, concluded yesterday.

On concluding ceremony, Agriculture Minister Girma Amente (PhD) said the exhibition was successful in promoting agricultural technologies and creative works across the country. “We gained valuable inputs to support and improve the sector and the event was focused on promoting and awareness creation activities.”

Girma expressed his Ministry’s readiness to promote and scale up the technologies across the country to bring better achievements. “We had get experience and shared knowledge for future activities to promote agriculture and increase production and productivity.”

Alongside the exhibition, four panel discussions which were graced by renowned experts were held and the experts sharedtheir knowledge and experience in the events. Strong ideas that could contribute to modernize the sector were also reflected during the discussion.  

“We gained the experience that would be served  as inputs for our future works from the exhibition. The participation of state representatives were also encouraging. Also, the media greatly contributed for the success of the event in informing the public through different programs.”

The minister further high lighted that visitors insisted for the continuation and expansion of such kind of exhibition while diversifying the scope of thematic areas. Over 88, 000 people attended the 28-day exhibition whereby the scope and destination of Ethiopia’s agriculture and its technologies had been showcased, it was learnt.
