ADDIS ABABA – A high level delegation, lead by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will arrive in Addis Ababa next week to discuss on ways of restoring the Axum obelisks, according to Prime Minster Office.
The high delegation happened to Ethiopia following Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s discussion with his Italian counterpart on side line meeting at Belt and Road Forum (BRF) 2019 in China, Beijing.
On the occasion the Premier had made discussion with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in ways to secure funds and endure the support of the Italian Government towards the restoration of the Axum obelisks.
According to Prime Minster Office Abiy also met yesterday with Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia Arturo Luzzi to discuss in activating and carry out the restoration of the Axum obelisk work in shorter possible time.
