ADDIS ABABA-FDRE Tax Appeal Commission discussed the bylaws of the tax appeal with the stakeholders yesterday at Washington Hotel. On the speech of FDRE Law Enforcement Deputy Attorney General Geleta Seyoum said those taxpayers who have a doubt on the Tax Authority’s decision, has the right to appeal and the commission works to build an independent and free tax appeal system.
“Government held different programs and applying different reforms to reshape tax system and create awareness of the stakeholders. Therefore, tax payers have liberty to have full freedom of having justice on their tax appeal, all human beings are equal in front of low,” Geleta stated. To make full the Tax Appeal system, rules and regulation must be simplify and accessible.
This issue is complicated by its nature, so to give good decision stakeholders must develop on training and it need strong researches. The Commission is responsible to decide the guideline, to make decision system fast, fruitful, transparent, and accessible, Tax administration proclamation number 983/2008 article 90(2).
