Strengthening peace, economic growth

Through promoting love and unity, the peace and development of our country should be strengthened. The culture of love and togetherness should be maintained. It is necessary to shoulder a better country to the next generation by working together for ensuring peace, development and growth of the country. This is possible with love and unity.  The economy is moving forward thought facing some internal and external pressures. The lack of peace, the impacts of coronavirus pandemic, drought and the war between Russia and Ukraine have put a lot of pressure on the economy. Taking this in to account, the government is set and has been working to deal with the problems. As the result of the efforts and since the fact that the country has great potential for development, the homegrown economic reforms has brought encouraging results. Furthermore, the government of Ethiopia is ready to accept economic policy reforms based on scientific findings and analysis. This will help to reduce debt burdens as well as in order to achieve development goals. As pertinent institution, the Ministry of Finance is ready to accept if the Ethiopian Economics association provides policy inputs for policy reforms and will support this, Finance Minister Ahmed Shide.

 As a government, we are working to ensure the safety of the people by solving the challenges related to peace and security that occur in the Oromia Regional State. We must be guided by a coherent system and a well-planned plan to ensure peace, security, continue development and growth. The current security situation in the region, service delivery and lack of good governance must be improved. I would like to affirm that the growth and development plan of the region of the 2022 fiscal year, the cost of living, problems related to youth unemployment will also be given due attention and will be given specific direction through implementation. In the past three months, we have been doing with due focus to the validity of the implementation plan, whether the direction and procedures have been maintained, the determination in the implementation process, the situation in order to solve the gaps and problems, especially in terms of participating the people and reducing the expenditure of resources. We will set the next direction by properly examining issues raised in public forums from the point of view of preventing theft and taking ownership and execution, Oromia Regional State Chief Shimelis Abdisa.

 Two thousand 761 new manufacturing industries have been entered into the business in the ended 2021/2022 fiscal year. The industries were ranked as medium and small manufacturing industries. The enterprises have also created employment opportunities for more than 148 thousand 494 citizens, Director General of Ethiopian Enterprise Development, Biru Wolde.
