Embassy extends condolences for victims of flight ET 302

ADDIS ABABA- Canada Embassy in Ethiopia yesterday extended its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the passengers and crew aboard Ethiopian Airlines flight 302.

Offering messages of condolence and support to those who lost loved ones, Canada Ambassador to Ethiopia Antoine Chevrier said Canada was impacted by the catastrophe incident; grieving while at the same time standing in solidarity and the partnership with friends and families.

“We want to send messages to families and friends of the crash victims of Ethiopian airlines flight 302, and express our most sincere condolences. It is so sad when so many people who want to make this world a better place lose their lives this way.”

Ambassador Mahelet Hailu permanent secretary for Europe, the Americas, Asia and Sundry Affairs, for her part extended heartfelt condolences to the whole families and friends affected by the incident, and said: “We are mourning those who lost their life.”

Participants observed a minute of silence and planted memorial tree that could serve in remembrance of the victims. The victims of flight ET 302, which was en route to Nairobi, included 18 Canadians.
