Cuba and Ethiopia vows to further strengthen the historic bond of friendship and cooperation in various aspects.
This commitment was reiterated in Cuba resident in Addis during the celebration of the 61st anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution National Day of Cuba lately. The occasion was conducted in the presence of Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia, Vilma Thomas and the African Union representative, Angel Villa.
On the occasion Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, Vilma Thomas underscored the perseverance of Cuba to overcome all difficulties created by the cruel Imperialist blockade and acknowledged the support of the vast majority of the international community against illegal policy.
Adding the Ambassador Vilma pointed out that 2020 will be the year of the 45 anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Ethiopia which shall be translated into more actions in favor of the bilateral cooperation.
On behalf of the Ethiopian Government, Ambassador Mahlet Hailu, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, noted that the historic bonds of friendship and cooperation between Ethiopia and Cuba have blossomed further in various spheres.
In attendance were Ambassador Josefa Sacko, Africa Union Commissioner of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as a large representation of the Diplomatic Corps, the African Union, the UN agencies, the Cuban community and the leaders of the various Ethiopians Friendship Associations with Cuba known as the Ethio-Cubans.
