‘‘Ethio-Egypt relation is beyond river Nile’’ Ambassador Dina Mufti

ADDIS ABABA – The diplomatic relation between Ethiopia and Egypt is longstanding, which is beyond the Nile River that the two countries share, said Ethiopian Ambassador to Egypt Dina Mufti.

Dina who praised the historic relations between the two countries, also vowed to work towards further strengthening the ties between Ethiopia and Egypt with due emphasis to priority interest areas.

He stated that, the two countries have a century old strong diplomatic relations. They are people who drink from the same river which are bound together by Nile River, Dina said. The leadership of both countries have also had a tremendous effort to liberate Africa.

“We remember that the then leaders of the two countries, Gamal Abdulnaser of Egypt and Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia have contributed a lot for the formation of Organization of African Union (OAU). Both contributed tremendous effort in defending African civilizations, Dina pointed out”.

He said that the two countries have strong relations in the areas of education, culture, trade and investment. The diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Egypt is intertwined beyond the Blue Nile River that originates from Ethiopia and shared among Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt. Egypt and Ethiopia have a long standing relations and both countries a long history of civilization in Africa.

The Ambassador said that, there are numerous Egyptian investors who are interested to invest in Ethiopia there are also some who had pre investment visit and some of them already started operation in the country he says.
