At the P4G Vietnam Summit 2025, held under the theme ‘Sustainable and People-Centred Green Transition’, I emphasized three key action points essential for advancing climate action.
First, we must prioritize climate finance by securing adequate, predictable, and sustainable resources. Second, we must significantly increase Africa’s share of global energy investment, from the current 2% to 20% by 2030, to support sustainable development and safeguard the continent’s critical ecosystems.
And, thirdly, urgent measures are needed to protect nature by combating biodiversity loss and land degradation. This includes funding grassroots initiatives like the Green Legacy Initiative and ensuring fair and equitable benefit-sharing mechanisms for local communities.
