Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has appointed Getachew Reda as his advisor on East African Affairs with the rank of Minister. Office of the Prime Minister said. Previously, Getachew served as Chief of Tigray Region Interim Administration following the Pretoria Peace agreement shouldering responsibilities amid worrisome, it was learned.

    -Enhancing productivity via digitalized agronomy

The World Bank’s (WB) Global Lead for Data-Driven Digital Agriculture and Innovation has commended Ethiopia’s agricultural progress driven by digital data to enhance productivity.
Parmesh Shah, World Bank’s Global Lead for Data-Driven Digital Agriculture and Innovation said that Ethiopia has made significant progress in leveraging agricultural digital data to enhance productivity.
According to Shah, substantial improvements in African agricultural productivity, products, and services can be achieved through investments in data regarding farmers, farms, soils, climate, and weather, coupled with the development of a data platform.

    -Ethiopia key partner of EU

Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos underscored the importance of regular consultations to further strengthen the relationship between Ethiopia and the European Union.
Gedion made the remarks during talks he held with Simon Mordue, Deputy Secretary-General for Economic and Global Issues of the European External Action Service in his office.
The minister stressed the need to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Engagement Agreement signed between Ethiopia and the European Union in 2026

   -Africa’ representation in international arena getting due attention

African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson, Mahmoud Youssouf Ali lauded Canada’s continued support for Africa’s permanent representation on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The Chairperson held discussion with the Deputy Minister and Personal Representative of the Prime Minister of Canada to the G7, Cindy Termorshuizen.
They two exchanged views on AU–Canada partnership & cooperation.
