ADDIS ABABA – Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that its foreign policy has guided the country into a new height of diplomatic achievements. Opening the annual meeting of Ethiopian diplomats assigned to foreign missions yesterday, the Ministry’s State Minister Hirut Zemene said that during last fiscal year, Ethiopia had been fruitful in its overall diplomatic engagements via attracting the attention of the whole world in many ways.
She said a lot of works focusing on bringing peace and security of the Horn region were carried out as a result the country has enabled to build trust and created solid cooperation among its neighboring countries. “A wide variety of activities were successfully executed to support the ongoing economic and political development, democratization and protection of human rights in the country by strengthening strategic partnerships with countries with special attention,” she indicated.
She noted that Ethiopia played a great role to get the nation’s foreign relation directives and national interests’ acceptance and support at Regional, continental, and international forums. According to her, Ethiopia worked out well as an alternate member of the Security Council and delivered to the successor African country.
Beginning from attracting foreign direct investment, Ethiopia registered great achievements those boost internal capital, technology, infrastructure, export products, and tourism of the country, she said. Much support has been made to attract foreign direct investment that can fill the gaps of the country in investment, trade, and unemployment by covering our capital capacity deficits, she added.
