Adama Industrial Park to commence production

ADDIS ABABA– The sheds of Adama Industrial Park have been completed and are ready to commence operation.

Jemil Tussa, management team member of China Civil Engineering Construction Cooperation (CCECC) told The Ethiopian Herald that the construction of 19 sheds has been completed and are ready to commence production.

The park is designed in an environment- friendly manner and all the sheds meet international standards. “The activities in the park would not pollute the environment as the installed water treatment technology enabled it to have a zero level of liquid waste discharge.” Ephrem Bekele, Adama Industrial Park Project coordinator said investors have already rented most of the sheds.

Antenx Textile PLC and Charter Ventures Apparel Ethiopia PLC are among the two giant companies that rented the sheds. Antenx Textile PLC has rent 12 sheds and commenced production and export. So far, it has also employed 3,000 people from the local community. Other factories have also finalized preparation to commence production as they are in the process machinery installment, Ephrem added. The park is expected to create jobs for 25,000 citizens and generate more than 38 million USD annually.
