ADDIS ABABA– Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority announce that the sector has secured over 81 million USD from coffee, tea, and spices during the past one month in this fiscal year.
In an email sent to The Ethiopian Herald, Sahlemariam G/ medhine Public Relation and Communication Director with the Authority said that the sector planned to export 24,225.94 tons of Tea, coffee, and spices to obtain 80.65 million USD while it enabled to make over 27,000 tons exported and succeeded more than 81million USD during the past July.
According to him, Germany, USA, Saudi Arabia are major destinations of Ethiopian coffee who shares, 14.24 million USD, 11.5 USD, and 10.41 USD respectively. On the other hand, Japan, South Korea, Belgium, Italy, Australia, France, and Sudan stand fourth up to tenth in terms of income generating respectively.
Compared to similar month of the past fiscal year, it has enabled to make additional export of more than 8,000 tons and 14.35 million USD more revenue, he said.
