Deputy Secretary General Lauds Ethiopia’s ‘Green Legacy’

ADDIS ABABA – Amina Jane Mohammed, Deputy Secretary General of the UN appreciated Ethiopia’s Green Legacy.

As Amina twitted in her account yesterday, in relation to the historic national trees planting program held last Monday in Ethiopia, if every country can break records for planting trees like Ethiopia –it is possible to counter the effects of deforestation and climate change.

The Deputy Secretary-General confirmed consorted efforts should be exerted to make sure planting trees is practiced in each nation because it has enormous positive impacts in restoring degraded lands and saving the world.

“Every one of our actions, big and small, counts for people and for planet.”

Amina Jane Mohammed is a British-Nigerian politician who is the current Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations. She was formerly the Federal Minister of the Environment of Nigeria.
