New Chief Administrator vows to deliver reform pledges

Temesgen sworn in as Chief Administrator of Amhara State

 BAHIR DAR- After the Amhara State Council approved his nomination as Chief Administrator of the State; Temesgen Tiruneh took an oath of office and vowed to deliver the promised reforms in state yesterday.

In his inaugural address, Temesgen said: “We have to recover from our grief standing together against the ill intent of the failed coup plotters and accomplices.”

As to him, the state has successfully restored peace and order having established special task force.

“We are so committed to bring about sustainable peace and stability in

our state and the country as a whole working together with Border and Identity Commission.”

Talking about the economic potentials of the state, he said despite its rich human and water resources, the state is still dependent on rainfed agriculture.

Revising the economic policy, creating better investment and job opportunities as well as enhancing innovation activities and carrying out various housing development programs would be the top priorities of the state, he noted.

Regarding the ongoing electrification expansion program in the state, Temesgen said the state will do everything in its power to succeed the program in the near future.

It is to be recalled that the former Chief Administrator of Amhara State, Dr. Ambachew Mekonnen was murdered in the failed coup attempt last month.
