Association receives materials worth of over 4.5 mln. Birr

ADDIS ABABA-Oromia Development Association (ODA) received various educational materials worth of 4.5 million Birr from its members living in Northern America, yesterday.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony held at the Head Office of the Association, Association’s Executive Committee Chairperson Aba Dula Gemeda said that the donation will strengthen the unity of Oromo society irrespective of political and religious differences. The materials are very helpful for students.

Buli Bedhane, Executive Committee Chairperson of the Northern America Oromia Development Association, said that for long, there was a problem to distinguish political attitude from public issue and there were challenges for the Diaspora communities to support their native communities. “However, today we can strengthen our unity and support the community.”

Further, he underscored, the Diaspora community is ready to provide voluntary services for the society by investing our professions, he further said. He also confirmed Association members’ commitment to support the ongoing. It is learnt that the materials donated includes lap tops, smart plasma screen and buses.
