Sheik Al-Amoudi library inaugurates on University’s premises

ADDIS ABABA- Institute of Ethiopian Studies (IES) of the Addis Ababa University inaugurated yesterday a library building dedicated to Ethiopian business tycoon Sheik Mohammed Hussien Ali Al-Amoudi.

Al-Amoudi donated 116 million Birr required to the construction of the building, it was learned. Speaking at inauguration, University’s President Prof. Tasew Woldehanna said the new building facilitate accessibility of library services to researchers.

As the library is center of information and documentation on issues regarding Ethiopia, the new building provides space to diversify its collections, he added. Lying on a 6,240-square meter of land, the building integrated various facilities including over four reading rooms, bookstore, auditorium, dining hall, among others.
