The Ethiopia-China Investment Forum held in Changsha in the margins of the First China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, so disclosed by Ethiopia Embassy in Beijing. Ethiopia Embassy in Bejing reported that the Ethiopia-China Investment Forum was held in Changsha city, Hunan Province, on the margins of the First China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo with the attendance of around 200 companies interested in investing in Ethiopia.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Teshome Toga underlined the strong bilateral relations between Ethiopia and China that has reached the highest level of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. This high level of partnership will be enhanced as the two countries celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2020.
He further noted that Ethiopia is determined to continue to be a model of success for the China-Africa Cooperation by providing concrete win-win results.
On the other hand, Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Abebe Abebayehu, presented the various investment opportunities and incentive packages that Ethiopia can offer to Chinese enterprises compounded by profound reform measures underway to create a more enabling business environment.
He has further elaborated the competitive factors of production and improving economic infrastructure that makes Ethiopia as a preferred choice of investment destination.
Misganu Arga, State Minister of Trade and Industry and Economy Diplomacy Permanent Secretary at MFA Ambassador Dewano Kedir also attended the event and gave answers to queries raised by the participating companies. One-on-one discussions were also held with anchor companies in priority sectors.
