ADDIS ABABA- Ethiopian Aviation University disclosed that it is going to offer trainings in undergraduate and postgraduate programs on various fields starting from September 2023.
Ethiopian Aviation University President KassieYimam told The Ethiopian Herald that through its postgraduate programs, the university will offer data science and aviation management courses while it will provide aeronautical engineering, aircraft maintenance engineering, aviation management and operations and tourism and hospitality management through its undergraduate programs.
Pilot training, aircraft maintenance technicians training, cabin crew and commercial training, leadership and career development, catering courses, ICAO courses and online course will also be offered throughits under diploma and certificate programs.
With special recognition to the importance of ICT, Ethiopian Airlines has been doing several projects. Thus, the Airlines recently launched a STEM educational program in collaboration with ThinkYoung Africa and Boeing for 24 students comprised from all states across the country.
The program, which is tailored for Ethiopian Youth, will provide specialized training for future aviation and technology professionals as well as a tailored teacher training courses. As to him, the program is an extension of an important event that will disseminate ICT and STEM to a wider group, he stated.
Starting from September, the university will going to offer aeronautical engineering that would help in designing, developing, testing and producing aircraft, so that students design airplanes component systems and join the aviation industry, he indicated.
He went on saying: “Ethiopian Airlines has been successful since its existence not because we have a lot of money but it is because we train our people. So, the key to development of any field is intelligent people. We employ a cream of the country and train further to make them even better.” It is to be recalled that the Airlines has been training pilots, aircraft technician, cabin crew, customer service agents, among others.
