
– Injibara University confers honorary doctoral degree to Ejigayehu
ADDIS ABABA – Various universities have graduated students trained in various fields of studies yesterday.
Jimma University has graduated 2,124 students who have been trained in various fields of study. Out of this, 1,835 students are in undergraduate program, 282 in postgraduate program and 7 in Ph.D, as to FBC.
Dilla University has also graduated over 1,829 students trained in various educational programs. The university graduated students for the 25th round and the students were attending their first, second and third degree programs.
Also, Debre Markos University has graduated students that have been trained in the first, second and third degree programs in the regular and extension programs.
Ambo University also graduated 4,036 students who are educated in various fields yesterday; of which, 2,829 are undergraduate students and 1,207 postgraduate ones. It was stated at the graduation ceremony that 1,069 of them are women.
In medicine program, it has graduated 21 students. The university also awarded Ph.D. degrees to two men and one woman. In addition, Wolega University has graduated 1,347 students who have been trained in 80 different fields of studies.
Worabe University has also graduated 715 students who have been trained in various fields of education in a regular and continuous program.
Wolayta Sodo University has graduated students who have been trained in regular and distance education programs in first degree as well as master’s degree and PhD.
Jigjiga University has also graduated 1,0 90 students. Among the graduates, 268 are women and 820 are men. Similarly, BuleHora University has graduated 1, 299 students who have trained in various fields of studies.

Meanwhile, Injibara University has graduated students who have been trained in the first and second degree programs in 4th round. Injibara has graduated students who have trained in 27 educational programs in six colleges in engineering and technology, natural and chemical sciences, agriculture and food and climate science, social and human sciences, business and economics, and education and behavioral sciences.
The university graduated 640 students in regular, first and second degrees, 79 students in the high diploma program as teachers, 31 students in the high diploma program as teachers of Amhara Police College, a total of 754 students graduated yesterday.
Injibara University has conferred honorary doctoral degree to the renowned Ethiopian singer and song writer Ejigayehu Shibabaw, popularly known as Gigi, during its graduation ceremony on Thursday.
The University attributes the bestowment of the honorary doctorate degree on the artist to her outstanding contribution in promoting the Ethiopian music and culture of Ethiopians as well as the Awi community where she hails from with exceptional capabilities, it was learnt.
Artist’s mother, Tenagne Seyoum, has received the honorary doctorate from the University on behalf of Gigi who is currently living in the United States of America.
