• Normalcy restored in Amhara state

As learned from the history of Ethiopia, attempts of coup ended up being unsuccessful, for they were senseless from the inception, according to them. For a wise person and group, the lessons are clear and succinct— Ethiopians allow only legitimate way of power transfer, as they added.

Undisputable proof to this is the condemnation the people have rained on the perpetrators and plotters of last Saturday’s coup attempt, she said. The security force, in concert with the public, foiled the coup in just an hour and restored normalcy both in the country and the region which, according to her, is a showcase to the people’s determination.

Also, Foreign Relations and Peace Standing Committee Chairman Tesfaye Daba said the cooperation between the security force and the public has once again reaffirmed Ethiopians’ uncompromising stance to rule of law.

Mentioning as the wide-array of reform has included ensuring the credibility of the National Election Board of Ethiopia, and practical measures have been taken in this regard, he affirms the fact that it is only through election that power will be transferred in Ethiopia. The chairperson who lauded the discipline of the security force in general described the measure taken by the government as legitimate and wise.

Meanwhile, normalcy has been restored in Amhara State owing to the tasks carried out by the security force in cooperation with residents, Police Commission Information Communication and Media Development Department Head Asst. Commissioner Seid Ahmed told journalists Thursday.
