Have it not!

BY MENGESHA AMARE

Ethiopia yells, Nigeria yells, and so do some others,

Across the planet though the degree varies,

A nation houses citizens,

Indiscriminately serves,

All sons and daughters,

However, some act on the contrary,

Not to serve compatriots, their country,

But would like to fatten personal gain,

Without feeling societal pain,

The ultimate goal for them is to gain,

Harvest, accumulate and make things fine,

Merely for them and their accomplices,

Just like flies, flea and/or lice,

Even they are notorious mice,

Have it not! Live without it,

Definitely with own sweat!

Let’s chat frankly, who innocently serves nations?

Fellow citizens,

Condemn making wealth with clash,

Over the poor blood and flesh,

Be committed to do things all the time right,

No. This much is enough! Citizens have to prefer,

Walking on bare foot to unlawfully fattening pocket,

This is really being sacked, blessed,

But who is it to do so,

We shall think of making a great nation,

With sacrifice and devotion,

But who is it?

People of their words

To practically translate,

Words, promises into actions,

Where are we heading?

What are we doing?

Who is it, the pioneer of all good deeds?

Thinking out of the box of odds,

Sadly,

Nepotism roots,

Embezzlement prevails,

Sense of belongingness is eroded,

Regionally, continentally and in the world,

Ethical asset has vanished,

Where are we heading?

With great nations, great people,

Instead of harvesting strawberry, apple,

Who is growing cruelty, suspicion, and rivalry?

Peculiarly,

In this affluent and miraculous country,

Gloomily, with well-to-do nation,

Smart and diligent population,

We have lost the veracious direction,

Of course there are nations which are grappled,

To what extent it is sweet,

Snatched out of the destitute,

This is a quest for them,

With no ethics, culture and accurate ethos,

We have to sieve who is to destruct, who is to construct,

Let’s fight all sorts of wrong doings,

Be they are social, political or economic,

Done against the nation, the general public,

To create peaceful, wealthy country,

Have it not!

To have a nation corruption free,

To let the world enjoy matching, equality with no misery,

Have it not!

Try all your best to avoid dishonesty, bribery,

It is possible and equally impossible too.

Unless you are committed to discard the nostalgia,

From the world, Africa, and from Ethiopia,

Have it not!

Solely enjoy what you have upon own sweat!!!
