It is impossible for anyone to be positive all the time because different thoughts come to our mind but we can be peaceful in the midst of all that by seeing it as a natural process that occurs all the time…Do you question why it becomes night and day? Or why the seasons change? That is not right as is the question why am I having these kinds of thought. I have tried the methods of forcing myself to think positive thoughts all the time but what it does is perpetuate more negative thoughts.
For example when you say I am positive person then you will be conditioned to avoid the negative moments which will not make them nonexistent but more painful. What works best is just being an observant of all the thoughts that come and go without judgment. Negative thoughts don’t mean I am bad and positive ones don’t mean I am good …because I am not the one who chooses to think or let go of the thoughts in my mind… I may choose what actions I take but not what thoughts I think. Dis-identifying yourself from the thoughts that come by being the observer you can save yourself from a lot of suffering .As we are humans we are bound to experience both positive and negative thoughts and feelings.
