ADDIS ABABA-The embassies of the U.S., Netherlands, and France to Addis Ababa have sent a congratulatory message on the celebration of the Irrecha thanks giving.
In their message, the embassies expressed that the holiday to bring happiness, brotherhood, and peace among Ethiopians. Accordingly, the festival is a thanksgiving holiday celebrated at the end of the rainy season and it is the time when the flood ends and growing the grasses for animals feeding including the people prepare to ask relatives about their health situation.
Moreover, the celebration is one of the symbols of Oromo people and a thanksgiving day where the people pray for God for keeping them healthy and peaceful. Meanwhile, the Government Communication Service (GCS) stated that the festival plays a significant role
towards strengthening the people-to-people interaction. Accordingly, the celebration is a heritage that will contribute more in building national unity and solidarity.
