Ethiopia at all hours of the day and night has been facing unwarranted pressure from some countries due to the coordinated information warfare that started since the onset of terrorist TPLF’s attack on the Northern Command of the Ethiopian Defense Forces.
While unfairly echoing the unfounded allegations of the outlawed TPLF clique, the broader international community has failed time and time again the victims of the clique. The disinformation campaign coupled with the vested interest of some foreign elements have as a result exonerated the criminal organization and criminalized the Ethiopian government that has been dragged into war by TPLF.
Although Ethiopia since the start of the criminal enterprise’s provoked war put out all the stops to make the international communities acquainted with the undisputable truth surfacing in the northern region of the country, some countries wittingly or unwittingly have been many a time and oft takings sides with the organized criminal groups that do not believe in making peace happen, but in beating the drums of war.
Notwithstanding the fact that the rogue group makes every effort to disrupt the lives of noncombatants residing in Tigray, Amhara and Afar states, some countries in the West have been putting pressure on Ethiopia treating with contempt and unjustified reasons.
In the same way, it is common knowledge that on the heels of the war that broke out in the northern part of the country, the ragtag group perpetrated summary executions, gang rape, robbery, and other actions against the law. However, the international community, as usual, has remained tightlipped and continued showing sympathy to the killing squad puzzlingly.
To everyone’s dismay instead of feeding every Tom, Dick, and Harry with fake news stories that add fuel to the flames, make matters worse, and cause the situation to become tenser, the countries have already rubbed shoulders with the disgruntled group, and refused to stand with the self-evident truth before the situation embarks on going from the frying pan into the fire.
In a similar vein, rather than bringing the criminal enterprise to justice, the U.S and its allies have been putting unwarranted pressure on Ethiopia and echoing the baseless accusations of the outlawed clique and playing part in badmouthing the positive measures the incumbent has already taken.
Even though the rebel group has continued mounting tensions and provoking rhetoric with a focus on pursuing its hidden objectives going on behind closed curtains, the international community has remained mute exerting pressure on the federal government.
It is generally known that in the aftermath of humiliating thrashing and significant losses by the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, the illegal enterprise had been forced to flee from the occupied territories in the Amhara and Afar states. And, though the Ethiopian forces have been moving heaven and earth to get to the bottom of the problem in an atmosphere of calm, the rascal gang embarked on launching an attack in the northern part of the country with impunity and claiming many innocent lives.
Disappointedly, the international community did not utter a single word of condemnation against the evil deeds of the criminal enterprise except giving the cold shoulder to the unflinching stance of the government to make peace happen.
In the same way, despite the fact that multifarious atrocities have been perpetrated in the northern part of the country, the low-rated international media outlets working in close collaboration with paid activists, and sympathizers have whitewashed the crimes TPLF heinously carried out.
Although the war crimes perpetrated in the Afar and Amhara states are nothing less than mass extermination, the international community as well as the low-rated media outlets did not utter a word of condemnation. For the sake of truth, though undisclosed, the unmarked mass graves uncovered in various parts of the Amhara and Afar states speak for themselves the hidden truth about the terrorist TPLF group.
Sad as it may sound, in the present circumstances, the rouge group has been exacerbating the stakes of its criminal behavior against noncombatants by creating a humanitarian crisis. The sad thing is that they have been weaning themselves from the truth and going to the ends of the earth to drag the efforts of the government for peace through the mud.
There is no denying the fact that following the determination of the government humanitarian assistance has been entering Tigray via road and air more than ever before. However, deviating from reality, the ragtag group has been perplexing the international community with fake news stories working in league with its allies.
It is appropriate to recall the criminal enterprise has been fully getting itself involved in hindering humanitarian assistance from entering the Tigray State in pursuance of using hunger as a political weapon. But the low-rated media outlets did not utter a single word of condemnation concerning the evil deeds of the terrorist group except to defame the government effort.
It is no secret that even if the government of Ethiopia made every effort to bring about lasting peace, the killing squad has been engaged in saber-rattling activities brushing aside the government’s continued efforts to bury the hatchet.
In what could be said an insult to the injury of the civilians who fell victim to the criminal deeds of the terrorist TPLF group, the US president lately failed to acknowledge the atrocities committed in Afar and Amhara states. In his statement during World Humanitarian Day, President Biden failed to mention the victims of the unlawful TPLF group only showing sympathy to Tigray victims who themselves have been the target of the group.
The president’s unjustified statement in fact has drawn sharp criticisms from US former officials and journalists.
In this regard, former U.S. diplomat Tibor Nagy and journalist Ann Garrison have put forward strong protests over President Joe Biden’s statement.
Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, expressing his disappointment, Tibor Nagy has tweeted that President Biden’s statement on World Humanitarian Day limits mention of suffering in Ethiopia’s Northern Conflict to only one region (Tigray state) since other regions have also been victimized. Wording matters!”
Journalist and Contributing Editor at the Black Agenda Report, Ann Garrison on her part said that Biden mentions about merely Tigray state instead of discussing Ethiopia on World Humanitarian Day. It shows that the Biden administration is clearly biased on standing by the side of the terrorist TPLF aggression.
As to her, the Biden statement has denied the massive damages of properties in Amhara and Afar states due to terrorist TPLF attack.
It is to be recalled that Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported the massacres of hundreds of Ethnic Amhara in Mai-Kadra. It is the worst-known episode of violence against innocent civilians in the depending bloodshed in northern Ethiopia. In this regard, the victimized citizens said: “Militiamen, policies, and the youth drawn from Tigray state attacked us with guns and machetes.” This horrible activity was revealed by Amnesty International on Nov.09, 2020 too.
Hundreds of Amhara laborers were brutally murdered by retreating T-TPLF youth fighters known as Samri in the Mai-Kadra massacre, according to Amnesty International’s East Africa Researcher, Fisseha Tekle.
There is a stark reminder that the terrorist group also attacked the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) stationed in Tigray state on Nov.04, 2020. Even TPLF official, Sekuture Getachew acknowledged in a televised statement that TPLF took a “pre-emptive strike” against Ethiopian federal troops.
After the terrorist group attacked the northern command forces, the invasion had been also carried out on the states of Amhara and Afar while the group committed the crime against humanity such as slaughtering and killing innocent civilians, displacing people, looting and destroying public and private properties in the stated areas.
Yet, the terrorist group is still preparing for another round of senseless and bloodiest war by recruiting child soldiers forcefully. Yet again, the clique always stands anti-peace, instead of drawing important lessons from its past mistakes. So far, neither the Biden Administration nor the westerns dared to face the reality on the ground and condemn the TPLF killing squad
