ADDIS ABABA – Foreign Minister Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu expressed his deepest condolences over the death of Sudanese officials including Mr. Mirghani Salih, Governor of Gedarif State during the plane crash at the border town of Gallabat on Sunday (December 09).
In a letter of condolences conveyed to his Sudanese counterpart, Al-Dirdir Mohamed Ahmed, Dr. Workneh said, “I would like to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to you and, through you, to the people of the Republic of the Sudan and the bereaved families”, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On Monday, the First Vice – President of the Republic, Lt.Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, received a phone call from Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, through which he expressed his condolences, and on behalf of the Ethiopian people, on the passing of the governor and his companions.
Lt. Gen. Bakri has thanked Abiy for his condolences to the people of Sudan on their loss, appreciating the deeply-rooted fraternal relations between two countries.
