Party elects leaders, chairpersons

ADDIS ABABA — The Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice (ECSJ) Party has elected its leaders and chairpersons; in which the leaders will exercise government position if the party wins the national election, and the chairpersons will engage in the day to day activities of the party, the Party disclosed. Former Member of Ethiopian Democratic Party Wasihun Tesfaye told The Ethiopian Herald that the new party’s council which has presence in 312 woredas (districts) across the country has elected Prof.

Berihanu Nega and Andualem Aragie as a leader and deputy leader respectively. In its founding meeting here yesterday, the new political party has been formed by merging the members of Patriots Ginbot 7, Semayawi, Gambella Regional Movement, All Ethiopian Democratic Movement, Ethiopian Democratic Party and two other opposition political parties, with the goal bringing social justice in Ethiopia. In the election held yesterday, Prof. Berhanu Nega won the council’s 912 votes and Yeshiwas Asefa the 722 votes. Dr. Chanie Kebede also won the position of Deputy Chairman.
