Saudi grants amnesty to 1,400 Ethiopians

The government of Saudi Arabia granted amnesty to 1,400 Ethiopians jailed for various reasons in connection with the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan.

The released individuals were sentenced to serve prison for longer years. The country’s officials also disclosed it would slash down the sentences of other prisoners by 75 percent. Quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fana Broadcasting Corporate said 300 of the prisoners arrived home last Wednesday.
