ADDIS ABABA – The terrorist TPLF’s renewed belligerence aims to assault the ethnic Amhara community of the Welkait-Tegede areas with a view to retaking the fertile lands by force, the Ethio-American civic organizations announced.
In joint press statement they issued recently, the Ethio-American Civic Council, Ethiopian Advocacy Network, and Unity for Ethiopia said the criminal faction is now preparing to commit another round of war that aims to retake the land of Welkait-Tegede, where countless of ethnic Amharas were executed by T-TPLF forces. The radical clique has killed and oppressed the community of Welkait Tegede for more than three decades.
“Following the reform in Ethiopia, the community of Welkait Tegede has regained its initial identity though TPLF is now restructuring its military force to retake the land through an offensive campaign against local civilians. T-TPLF forcefully erased the former administrational map of the area and illegally annexed lands belonging to Amharas. Hence, the local community has been through appalling situations following the attempt of ethnic cleansing.”
The civic associations have also denounced the political pressures of the U.S. and some other western countries that have purely worked to reinstate T-TPLF through imposing unjust sanctions on the legitimate government. The U.S. administration is still unsatisfyingly accusing the Ethiopian government knowing the fact that TPLF was the one that triggered the conflict.
Meanwhile, the three associations have noted that they have been partnering with other civic councils to deter the ill-conceived H.R. 6600 bill.
