ADDIS ABABA- The terrorist TPLF group considers the Amhara community in Welkait- Tegede as an obstacle for its agenda has made every attempt to repopulate the fertile lands with ethnic Tigray people at the expense of the indigenous community, the Welkait-Tegede Identity Committee Advisor said.
Speaking to local media, the advisor Gebeyaw Lakew stated that the Amhara community in the area have been killed and arrested by TPLF and their properties were destroyed and looted by forces loyal to the criminal faction. “TPLF forces told us that they were only after the land and the women they want Amhara women for procreating bastards and the fertile land for farming. They were strongly detested the presence of Amhara men in Welkait-Tegede”
“The only reason we (the Amhara people) are still on this land is just by our own struggle and TPLF did not want to allow any of us to stand on our own feet here,” Gebeyaw added.
As to him, ethnic Amharas in the area were arrested besides wild animals and disappeared by members of the radical faction. “There are plenty of the graves of our brothers and sisters and they were not buried properly, but it is not time to dig out their bones without seeing the TPLF’s demise.”
“We don’t have the complete freedom till now, but we will reveal what happened to our fallen brothers and sisters and tell the world their gloomy stories. There have been cases of prisoners who were put in aluminum shacks and had bullets rain down on them from airplanes.”
Noting the presence of prisoners that were buried alive alongside wild animals, the advisor highlighted the existence of ethnic Amharas detained in TPLF’s underground prisons for 25 and 30 years. “There is no official has ever asked what happened to these people and those individuals who have been involved in the heinous crime have not yet faced justice.”
