ADDIS ABABA – The joint report of the Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Amnesty International (AI) have failed to report the human rights abuses committed by the invading TPLF groups in Amhara and Afar states, so said Ann Garrison, San Francisco based independent journalist.
Talking to Pacifica Radio, Ann Garrison stated that the HRW and AI have totally failed to report terrorist TPLF’s human rights abuses in the Amhara and Afar states. As to her, the TPLF perpetrated various heinous atrocities against civilians by invading the neighboring Amhara and Afar states.
She further indicated that she travelled up and down where nobody had any electricity as the infrastructure was damaged by the TPLF groups.
She also noted that, as a journalist, she went to University of Gondar to attend the press conference organized to disclose investigation team’s report uncovering mass graves in Welkait, which the TPLF annexed the area in 1991 and dominated and occupied then until 2018.
Professors participated in the investigation estimated that as many as 59,000 peoples who had insisted TPLF’s domination were
killed brutally and buried in mass, as to the journalist.
She also explained that two days before the investigators hold their press conference the HRW and AI produced a joint report alleging war crimes, crimes against humanity, and possibly genocide ethnic-Tigrayans.
The journalist further stated that the so-called human rights groups are never neutral. The dominant Western press and the U.S. officials, especially USAID chief interventionist extraordinary Samantha Power, quickly portrayed the Tigrayans and deploy the term to “Tigray Genocide”.“That is what justifies intervention. And then a familiar regime change pattern began to emerge. The same rules are play out in Libya and Syria.”
As to the journalist the U.S. officials are trying to take down the Ethiopian Government, particularly Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) since November 2020. “I am sure they were planning before November 2020.”
In November 2020 the TPLF started the war by attacking Northern Command of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) based in Tigray state, she said, adding that then the Prime Minister reacted as any head of state would do by sending national army.
Now, why the U.S. so determined to break down Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, it takes back first, he won a Nobel Prize for negotiating decades-long dispute with neighboring Eritrea, Garrison indicated.
She also said that the U.S. is also upset because of the regional cooperation agreement by Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somalia, which is more independence than the U.S. could tolerate in the Horn of Africa or anywhere else.
Ethiopia also has enormous potential, now most exemplified Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, which just went online, it could electrify all of Ethiopia. And sell electricity to its neighbors and the U.S. did not want to see Ethiopia emerge as a regional powerhouse, she further explained.
