So many things said
So many things read
So many things learned
So many things listened
So many things watched
We discussed; agreed or disagreed
Yet, puzzled
How long we wait?
How long we pretend?
How long we ignore the real problem?
When is the time to reflect?
When is the time to act?
to stop hesitation,
to be bold, to dare do
to break the chain, to open eyes
We shall confess
We’re blindfolded, trapped
Envy, Ignorance and Greed
Gripped our hearts hard
It is division keeping us poor
It is division killing us each other
It is division making us ignorant
It is division making us heartless
So, let’s come together
Forgive each other
Start new,
Saying I’m my brother’s keeper
My land shall choose
Knowledge over ignorance
My people shall choose
Kindness over greed
My country shall choose
the good over evil
Ethiopia shall choose
Repentance over condemnation
That is the auspice day
That is the renaissance
Ethiopia move an inch forward.
