St. George U-17 side concede defeat on forfeiture

ADDIS ABABA – Though Saint George U-17 youth football team had a win over Insurance that took place at Janmeda a few days ago, the federation reversed that result and awarded victory to Insurance on forfeiture for fielding non-eligible player.

Insurance filed that Ibrahim Bochene has been an eligible player of Insurance for making a deal for three years but without having proper transfer process he illegally joined St. George and wrongly played in a match between St. George and Insurance.

After investigating the case, the games organizing body, the Addis Ababa Football Federation, AAFF, decided that the player made a wrong appearance. So that St. George were defeated 3-0 on forfeiture while the player Ibrahim was suspended for one year.

So far in the U-17 football competition Insurance are in the lead on 19 points while St. George are placed second with the same 19 points.
