We’re in times when you can write a beefy volume about things you know nothing about and get the applause, not because you made any sense but because we’re in age where cheerleaders call the shots. You get the thumbs up and your boss who has absolutely no idea of what you wrote about is, “You are doing real well!” It is probably about this part of the world. Our narratives have been hijacked and been mutilated by those who know absolutely nothing about us and yet are taken as the experts.
“My guest to night is an expert on Ethiopia from London…” What in the world makes that guy an expert about me only God knows!
It’s another way of saying, “Don’t you dare!” “Don’t you dare mess with us because we own the airwaves?”
That said, there is this sweeping tsunami of ignorance and arrogance within the so-called Western media and it is turning our long held beliefs on their heads. How can we forget for months we have been the focal point of that media’s target practice? Of course they’re terribly failed in almost all their ventures of throwing us all into the farthest corners of the universe.
Look trying to keep pace with what is going on in Ukraine you can’t help stumbling on a lot of channels talking about the war. Well, they should. This is a scenario few expected will ever happen in mainland Europe. But I’d have liked to say I’m astounded by the very same tone and rhythm of various channels which one would have thought should have had their own fingerprints on their programs. Of course facts are facts and you could do nothing about them. But most of the hard news these days being fully wrapped up by opinions we should have been to say…” The correspondent on this channel said so and so, but correspondents of the other channels went down different paths.” No, that isn’t happening.
As some guy who asks stupid questions he shouldn’t have asked I’d have liked to know the real contents what those people pray in the mornings. They do pray, don’t they? Come on, this is not about preaching! In times of great difficulty even those known to have been boasting of having to do nothing with anything spiritual pray! Of course what matters are the words they employ “God, please help me throw those people in the farthest corners of this universe where no one would ever come across them again!”
And someone asks “Why do you ask God such a heinous request?”
“Because I hate those people?
“And why, if I may ask do you hate them?”
Slippery! That’d be a very slippery question many probably wouldn’t want to be asked. The fellow would probably doesn’t have any idea of why he hates the people he says he hates!
These days one of our most lethal problems is that most of us have no strong ground work for our disdain or even hate of others. Of course, these days you don’t need talkative village ladies who would smear one’s name so thoroughly no one would recognize it. The mainstream Western media and the social media platforms would do it for you.
Shouldn’t the world be focusing on the peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis? Shouldn’t the Western media be in the forefront of calls for peace? NO! They’re not doing that. They are not talking about peace and the importance of a peaceful resolution for this very delicate war. Roll fast backward and try to recall what they have been accusing us; of course, not wanting peaceful resolution to the conflict in the north! They have wasted much ink and airtime trying to paint us as a collection of warmongers. They have been saying whatever the underlying reasons for the armed conflict we should turn our backs to the past and look for me peace. The morally depraved have been trying is to lecture us about moral! They have thrown very adjective and adverb our way trying to demonize us as in the eyes of the rest of the world.
Now they are indulged in the game of carving out some out-of-the world creature from Putin’s person. All kinds of stories are appearing in the mainstream Western media some of which are so childishly stupid you wonder how far they go to demonize anyone they aren’t comfortable with. Focusing on making the leader of three hundred-plus million proud people as some kind of monster! Sad!
