ADDIS ABABA – Germany’s Bundesliga side Bayern Munich agreed to open up the U-17 football youth academy in Addis Ababa, next year.
The German football club were in Addis for a two-day meeting. During their stay the club officials discussed about the opening up of the academy with officials of the Ethiopian Sports Commission and the Ethiopian Football Federation. The agreement that will be in place for three years was signed last week Wednesday.
Munich officials said that the academy will serve to share the experience of the European football giant to the Ethiopian young footballers.
Prior to this, Bayern opened the academy in China, Vietnam and Brazil. In all these country’s the academy ended with success. Considering this the academy that will be opened in Ethiopia will be successful, the officials remarked.
Bayern Munich officials were received by the Ethiopian President Sahlework Zewde.
