Scarifying my life
I will ensure the furtherance
Of my country
Thereby to add a brighter hue
To Ethiopia’s golden history,
Replete with superb
Citizens-government Chemistry.
Also, to invasion
Showing firm resistance
To servitude exemplary Ethiopia
Gave no chance.
I have to pinch many a thug’s ear
That misread patience for fear
What is more, aggression
To peace that preferred dear.
Solely officiating is not my wont,
In a show of integrity,
I have to march to the battlefront
Nation-wrecker terrorist to confront.
To ensure peace for war
There may be a call,
Though a peace laureate,
The ball of counter-offensive
I’ve to roll
Hypocrites and allies
Couldn’t make me their doll,
Pan Africanism, regional integration
And common prosperity
Before me stand tall.
If I embolden citizens
And stir up hornet’s nest
Follow suit will all.
This way
Neo-colonizers ambition will
Crumble, clatteringly to fall.
Contrariwise, scarifying my country
I ‘ll not meet a personal end
Responding to the diktat
The conceptual west send
From set prosperity’s path
The reformed to bend;
“Why should you care?
Why don’t you defect
To a comfy place
From harm you
That protect?
We will give you money
Harbor not fear any
But if you refuse
Using sham media houses
– “Here is a tyrant!”
The global community, UN
We shall confuse.
As your security is feeble
To unseat you we shall
Support terrorists’
And insurrectionists’ dabble.
— “Immediate danger is stark
You better avoid
From cross-fire attack.
‘Diplomats leave fast
The tranquil country
Before it is too late!’ ”
We shall propagate.
Instability—A wrong alarm bell
We shall ring
In favor of the terrorist
To pull a power string.
Fail not we also
Our arm twisting.
This way we did
Three-decades back
A regional change effect
To bring to power
Terrorist TPLF
Our dangerous pet,
A to Z to execute
Our selfish plan
That does not hesitate,
A rare Trojan horse
Unmatched to date
It has been of course.
Using a sanction whip
On considerate Ethiopia
We shall inflict
Economic wound deep.
